Kramer’s VP-2×2 is a high-quality 2×2 matrix switcher for computer graphics (XGA) video signals, with resolutions up to and exceeding UXGA, and balanced stereo audio signals. This high-bandwidth 400MHz device can route either or both inputs to either or both outputs simultaneously. This model is HDTV compatible and is primarily found in professional display systems requiring a true 2×2 matrix operation, any environment that needs multimedia and presentation source and acceptor selection such as in remote monitoring of computer activity in schools and businesses.
The main features of the VP-2×2 is its video bandwidth that exceeds 400MHz which ensures transparent performance in all applications, a TAKE button that allows users to pre-select a setting and then activate it, a LOCK button to prevent tampering via the front panel, and an Audio-follow-video switching and audio breakaway (when audio and video are switched separately). Controlling this device is simple and convenient via the the front panel buttons, or done remotely by RS-232 serial commands transmitter by a touch screen system, PC, or other serial controller. To achieve the best performance with this device it is recommended using only good quality connection cables to avoid interference, deterioration in signal quality due to poor matching, and elevated noise level (which is often associated with low quality cables).
The VP-2×2 comes with the following items: 12V DC power adapter, Windows-based Kramer control software (for using RS-232 control), null-modem adapter, and a 7 year warranty from Kramer. The compact size of this device allows for 2 units to be rack mounted side by side in a 1U rack space using the optional Kramer RK-1 rack adapter.
